Biography
Funso Raphael Kutu (Pr. Sci. Nat.) is a Professor in the School of Agricultural Sciences who trained as a soil scientist with major in agronomy. His research focuses on best management practices that seek to promote healthy soil, increase crop yield and sustainable land management. Specifically, his research activities encompass soil fertility evaluation, organic wastes utilization in agriculture, compost science, nutrient dynamics in soil-plant systems including soil-crop interaction, agronomic studies and cropping systems, and green chemistry. Prof Kutu is an Associate Editor with the Agronomy Journal (USA) and serves as member in different committees of the American Society of Agronomy including as Co-Chair for the Student Research Symposium Contest Committee (ACS449.8). He is currently the chairperson, Mpumalanga Agricultural Research Committee (MARC) of the Provincial Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs (DARDLEA).
