Abstract: This study aimed to design a strategy to promote healthy nutritional practices using a school food garden at an early childhood care and education centre in Mkhondo Circuit. The literature confirmed that school food gardens enhance proper eating habits, and the school, with the community, has a significant role to play in promoting healthy nutritional practices through a school food garden. The theoretical framework that informed the study is critical emancipatory research. The conceptual framework is the transtheoretical model (TTM), which encourages inclusivity in life-changing scenarios.
